CLINICA MAYA
The Clinica Maya developed out of a need for more accessible medical care for the uninsured migrant workforce in Palm Beach County, particularly the indigenous Maya. At the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, we had the largest testing site in Lake Worth Beach, seeing up to 600 people each Saturday night. Later on, we educated our community on the importance of being vaccinated against Covid-19 and have administered over 2,300 shots. Throughout, our families kept telling us that we were their nearest trusted source for medical access. We knew that meant our scope of services needed to expand. Through the Clinica Maya, we are able provide culturally competent medical care by having Spanish and Mayan language speakers on staff who can help families best navigate the medical system.
Thanks to our wonderful partnerships, volunteers and funding from the Quantum Foundation and donors like you, we are are now able to provide medical services to those most in need in our community!
